07.23.08

P2O pre-registration HAS OFFICIALLY CLOSED.

The final pre-registered count is 376 Porsches, a new record for the event! The number eclipses last year's record of 251 pre-registrations, a 49% INCREASE from 2007 in spite of a national tightening of the belt and nearly $4.00/gal gas prices. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and relentless support of Porsches 2 Oxford continues to set the bar extremely high. When asked how we do it, we simply say "we didn't, you did!" And while attendance continues to increase, organizers are still committed to making P2O the 'biggest little casual Porsche party' in the country. Unpretentious, unintimidating, and entirely casual!

As of today, 333 Porsches have been pre-registered for P2O. Pre-registration WILL END ON TUESDAY JULY 22 AT 11:59PM. If you plan to attend and have yet to pre-register, we advise doing so ASAP to expedite your arrival and sign-in on Saturday morning. And dont forget, ONLY PRE-REGISTERED AND PRE-PAID ATTENDEES receive a t-shirt and poster!

07.15.08

Pre-registrations have officially cracked the 300 mark for the first time in event history. Organizers are busy caretaking the flurry of signups and polishing off the finishing touches for Saturday, July 26. We expect a significant number of additional pre-registrations and a healthy registration turnout the day of the event. Thanks to everyone for making P2O a people event that celebrates great cars! Without your continued commitment and enthusiasm, P2O would not be one of the top Porsche celebration destinations in the country after just four short years.

Details are finalized for Friday evening's get-together at The Smokin' Ox directly on show center in uptown Oxford. P2O has reserved space beginning at 6:00pm for those wishing to attend and share great food, suds, and stories. The fun will last as long as you like, so drop in at your convenience, identify yourself with P2O, and get the weekend off to a great start!

Volunteers are NOT planning to hand out registration goodie bags on Friday afternoon as in years past, but we encourage you to arrive in Oxford early on Friday afternoon to enjoy the arriving rumble of Porsches from all parts of the country, get checked in, and join us at the Ox!

07.01.08

As of July 1, P2O registrations are now at 228, nearly 70% ahead of this time last year. Our goal of 300 shiny Porsches along the uptown streets of Oxford, Ohio is clearly in sight!

We're pleased to announce P2O 2008's charitable 50/50 raffle recipient will be the Cincinnati chapter of the American Cancer Society. Everyone attending P2O knows someone battling cancer, including P2O's very own founder Marylynn Roe who lost her battle in 2006. We're excited to join forces with ACS and ask that you do your part at the event to help fund the research to find a cure.

There is still space available for the Sunday morning road rally orchestrated by the pros at Scenic Road Rallies, LLC. Enjoy some of the best rural roads throughout western Ohio and eastern Indiana, including a great photo-op through nearby Hueston Woods State Park. Authentic P2O brick trophies will be awarded to the top finishers! For more information on how to secure your spot, visit http://www.scenicroadrallies.com/downloads/2008PorschestoOxfordRoadRally.pdf

06.26.08

Registrations have now topped the 200 mark, the earliest P2O organizers have ever reached it. Currently, pre-registrations are up well over 50% compared to last year at this time. In 2007 255 cars preregistered before the event and volunteers are hoping to crack the 300 mark for the first time in P2O history! Continued thanks for all of the relentless support attendees have shown this year.

Organizers have reserved The Smokin' Ox for Friday night festivities. The Ox has a room just for us, so If you are planning to arrive on Friday, please join us for some great food and drink at one of Oxford's favorite eateries! More information will become available as we get closer to the event. You can visit The Smokin' Ox website HERE.

05.25.08

It's not too late to make your plans for attending the Taj Kreuzers Speedfest Car Show on Sunday, May 25th near Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio! Not pre-registered? No problem! Register at the show and join hundreds of other beautiful cars for a great day of fun. P2O is a presenting sponsor of the show along with Forgeline Wheels, and we're excited to help support Taj events and Taj Kreuzers Speedfest Charities!

For more information: http://www.kreuzers.com/speedfest.php

05.24.08

Pre-registrations are currently at 153 cars with over TWO months still to go! At this same time last year, roughly 85 cars were pre-registered and 153 pre-registrations were not reached until early July! Support continues to be steady and well past last year's record-breaking mark of 251 pre-registered cars. We have secured additional parking space in uptown Oxford in preparation for the turnout. If you have not done so already, we suggest pre-registering as soon as possible to help us project turnout and make your sign-in at the event fast and painless.

We've recently finalized the official 2008 P2O poster and will be sending proofs to the printer within the next 10 days. You may preview the poster by clicking the Official Poster link under P2O Potpourri on the left navbar of this page.

05.17.08

P2O is excited to announce our third major sponsor for this year's event: Autobahn Extremist of Rocky River, OH. Last year, Autobahn Extremist customers took their cars to Porsches 2 Oxford, winning three Top-35 Brick awards.   Honored by the recognition, AE will be represented in 2008 as a major sponsor for the first time, alongside returning major sponsors Griot's Garage and Beechmont Porsche. With customer cars and a company booth on display, P2O attendees will see firsthand why the NE Ohio's premier full-service shop can lavish your daily driver, garage queen, or fully-prepped Porsche race car. It’s a shop that routinely does what others say can’t be done, and then guarantees the work – even to the point of standing behind the race car engines that they build – and NO ONE does that!
All in the name of perfection! Autobahn Extremist even fabricates custom carbon fiber engine parts and performs powdercoating to really show off your car. From oil changes to complete engine rebuilds, no job is too small or large.

Known throughout the Midwest, Autobahn has the reputation of doing things only one way – the right way.  Visit our newest major sponsor on the web at www.autobahnextremist.com.

05.09.08

P2O registrations continue to roll in! Organizers are approaching 130 pre-registered cars with more showing up daily. Current pre-registrations are up 30%+ over one year ago when 250+ shiny Porsches adorned the brick-lined streets of uptown Oxford, Ohio. With over two and a half months still to go, the quest for 300 cars looks increasingly favorable. Organizers want to thank all of our loyal attendees -- especially in light of the rising gas prices -- for the remarkable progress thus far.. Your faithful commitment to P2O is why the event is tabbed as "one of the permier Porsches events in the country." It really is all about you!

03.16.08

Speedfest 2007Porsches 2 Oxford is proud to announce that we are a presenting sponsor for the 2008 Taj Kreuzers Speedfest Car Show on May 25, 2008 at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio. Along with Forgeline Wheels, P2O will lend their support to this great event that kicks off the spring and summer car show season benefiting Daybreak, The Wellness Connection, and Ronald McDonald House. Best of all, the event is FREE to all attendees willing to display their car to the public -- though donations are encouraged!

Special awards and goodies will be handed out at the Taj Speedfest to those attendees who PRE-REGISTER for Porsches 2 Oxford, so if you haven't already, pre-register now for P2O and look for registration opportunities very soon for the Taj Speedfest at www.kreuzers.com. Those wishing to to take advantage of special P2O opportunities may also pre-register for P2O and register for the Speedfest when you arrive. Either way, it's a chance to get an early start on the car show season while supporting P2O's 2008 Trophy Sponsor and helping those who are less fortunate.

The Taj Kreuzers Speedfest has raised over $300,000 to local charities in the last six years. The month-long celebration of cars and fun begins on May 10, with a Museum Walk of the Taj Ma Garaj and ends on May 31 with Party at the Taj -- a night of food and cocktails, music, and a silent auction. To read more about the events, view the recent Dayton Daily News article by clicking HERE.

03.13.08

PCA National President Prescott Kelly and his wife Pam have announced they will be attending Porsche 2 Oxford 2008 on July 26. The Kellys attended last year and had a fantastic time, in part do to the friendliness of all the P2O attendees like you! Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself at the event.

03.11.08

A featured recap of Porsches 2 Oxford 2007 is in the recent March 2008 edition of Panorama magazine. Headlined in the article as 'one of the premier Porsche car shows in the country", PCA President Prescott Kelly writes about the people-friendly atmosphere and un-intimidating hospitality that sets P2O apart and provides its charm. In part, "as a crowd-pleasing, large yet low-key PCA event, Mid-Ohio Region's Porsches 2 Oxford provides an excellent and proven model for other regions to emulate," Kelly said. "Here's hoping others are successful."

Currently P2O registration are up 20% compared to this same time last year. With over 50 pre-registered attendees, nearly 80% are paying via electronic credit card payment. Organizers are actively working to finish loose ends on major sponsorship for 2008 and are recruiting supporting sponsors both local and regional.

03.01.08

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR P2O 2008 IS NOW OPEN! Click on the event pre-registration link on the left of the horizontal navbar to get started!

02.25.08

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR P2O 2008 WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN ON MARCH 1, 2008. Organizers have been working hard this winter to prepare for the fourth annual event. One of the improvements this year is the option to pay for registrations by electronic payments through PayPal. It's fast, easy, secure, and immediate! Best of all, it's free and if you don't already have a PayPal account, you won't need one! Pay with any major credit card and secure your spot in the show! Those wishing to pay via check may still do so. Either way, organizers listened to attendee feedback and are excited to make this improvement on your behalf.

We are also working to secure 2008 sponsors and have commitments from Griot's Garage and Beechmont Porsche to return once again this year. The credit of course goes to attendees like yourself who patronized their displays, bought merchandise, and reminded them of your appreciation for their support. We expect one or two more major sponsors along with a host of supporting sponsors. If your business would like to be a supporting sponsor, please contact Event Co-Chairperson Brice Kadel at bkadel@porsches2oxford.com.

02.11.08

Porsches 2 Oxford will take place again this year on the quaint brick streets of scenic uptown Oxford, Ohio on Saturday July 26th.  This is the fourth year that this annual event has taken place in Oxford – after spending its first two years in Pinckney, Michigan. There are still plenty of places to stay for those wishing to spend Friday and/or Saturday nights in Oxford.  Although the Elms Holiday Inn may be full, there are still numerous other lodging opportunities in the area.

The Marcum Conference Center and Inn (513.529.2104) located on the Miami University Campus has over 30 rooms earmarked for our group.  The Marcum offers regular rooms and suites with rates starting at $79/night plus tax.  They have agreed to supply a water source so that guests can wash their cars during this weekend. The Best Western (888.369.9577) and the Hampton Inn (513.524.0114) are both also reserving rooms for our group.  Prices at these hotels start at about @ $100/night plus tax.  For those wishing to stay at a bed and breakfast, Maplevale Farm Bed and Breakfast (877.50.MAPLE) has set aside rooms for those attending P2O.  Visit www.maplevale.com for more details. When contacting any of the above, please mention that you are with Porsches 2 Oxford to get any available discounts.  P2O encourages those planning on attending to book their room(s) as soon as possible.

Last year over 250 Porsches from 14 states and Canada attended P2O and co-chairman Brice Kadel estimates that this year there will be over 300 cars present. “There is an upcoming article in Porsche Panorama written by PCA National President Prescott Kelly that should go a long way to legitimizing Porsches 2 Oxford as one of the premier Porsche events in the country," Kadel said.  "We hope his article -- along with improved marketing efforts and an established track record -- will help us in attracting more cars and people than in the past.”

Returning again in 2008 as major P2O sponsors are both Griot’s Garage and Beechmont Porsche.  Kadel added, “Thanks to our many sponsors, we are able to continue to provide a first-class event with an entry fee of only $20 per car which includes both an event T-shirt and poster.  Last year we awarded over $3,000 in fantastic door prizes and over 35 car show awards.  This year promises to be even better.”

Thank you for making P2O 2007 a huge success!! Organizers set an event record with over 250 cars on display along the uptown streets of Oxford, OH. Considering the unfavorable weather forecast leading up to the weekend, we are ecstatic that so many Porsche lovers braved the chance of rain and joined us for our third annual event. The rain held off all day as attendees flocked to Oxford from 13 states and Canada, including over 20 PCA regions! The hard work began just after P2O 2006 as volunteers began planning for this year's event, but the real thanks go to all of you who make P2O the unintimidating, casual Porsche party it is. Special thanks to our major sponsors Griot's Garage, AUTO Aficionado magazine, and Beechmont Porsche, along with our contributing sponsors including trophy sponsor Taj Speedfest Charities. All of the sponsors were thrilled with the event and the support you gave their products for sale or on display. Congratulations to our Top-35 award winners, grand prize winner, and those who walked away with Tom Tom navigational units, Griot's Garage car care kits, Beechmont Porsche framed artwork, and other door prizes!

The P2O 2007 photo slideshow IS NOW ONLINE. Simply click 'past P2O events' in the horizontal navbar or click here to see photos from this weekend's event. Look for the official P2O 2007 event video in the coming weeks, so check back soon for more coverage wrap-ups and news on next year's event.

07.25.07

Pre-registration is OFFICIALLY CLOSED!

Thanks to all of you for pre-registering your vehicle. If you have pre-registered but have not paid, please get your payments in immediately. If we do not have your payment recorded at the show, you must pay to re-register and will not receive your free t-shirt and event poster. Payment extensions have been extended to Thursday, but if we do not receive payment by Thursday, you are NOT pre-registered. No exceptions.

With over 250 cars pre-registered for P2O 2007, we are well on our way to reaching our lofty goal of 300 vehicles this year. Last year at this time, we had 201 pre-registered cars. We look forward to seeing all of you this weekend! For those planning to drive into Oxford on Saturday morning, we advise getting up early and arriving early. It's festival parking as usual, so early birds get the worm.

07.16.07

As of today, there are 206 cars registered for P2O, putting us well ahead of last year's numbers. We thank all of you for pre-registering and doing your part to make our job easier, and encourage those who have yet to register to please do so in the next few days. Online pre-registration officially ends on Monday July 23, and payment must be received by Tuesday, July 24. For those living beyond one day postal delivery, we advise sending payment via overnight carrier to guarantee your pre-registration. Not only do you ensure your spot in the field and enjoy more efficient check-in, you also receive a free P2O t-shirt and commemorative poster. Those who register at the show may still register for $20.00 but must purchase t-shirts and posters separately. So overnight courier is a wise (and well spent) choice if you pre-register just before the deadline.

For those still looking for places to stay overnight near Oxford, OH, please consult the following hotels. They are only a couple of minutes from show center, are familiar with P2O guests, and will take care of your traveling party! The Elms Holiday Inn on show center has been booked for a couple of months.

Hampton Inn Oxford: 5056 College Corner Pike, Oxford, OH 45056 Tel: +1-513-524-0114
Best Western Sycamore Inn: 6 E Sycamore Street, Oxford, Ohio, 45056 Tel: +1-800-523-4678

07.02.07

As of the end of June, P2O 2007 had 135 registrations – a 23% increase over the same date last year -- which is extremely encouraging in light of reports that other car shows in the region are seeing significantly lower numbers compared to a year ago. P2O Co-Chairperson Brice Kadel said, “It’s great that the response has been so good again this year.  We’re on schedule to attract more than 275 cars to Oxford on Saturday July 28th”. Kadel added, “We hope that those who participate in the many Porsche-related web forums will make posts regarding what a great event P2O really is.  It’s word-of-mouth advertising from satisfied previous attendees that will get us closer to our goal of 300 cars."

06.07.07

Pre-registrations have broken 100 and are on pace to obliterate last year's attendance. Because of the registrations, the Elms Holiday Inn now has NO VACANCY for the weekend. However, fans should not despair as the nearby Hampton Inn and Best Western are just a stone's throw from show center and are now taking reservations for P2O attendees. Both hotels are well prepared to accept P2O travelers and should provide another quality place to interact with other event visitors.

Hampton Inn Oxford: 5056 College Corner Pike, Oxford, OH 45056 Tel: +1-513-524-0114
Best Western Sycamore Inn: 6 E Sycamore Street, Oxford, Ohio, 45056 Tel: +1-800-523-4678

05.26.07

Porsche Club of America national President Prescott Kelly has announced that he and his wife Pam will be attending Porsches2Oxford 2007.  On making their first trip to P2O, Mr. Kelly said, “We’re looking forward to being part of this unique casual Porsche party.  It’s a great excuse for us to visit southwestern Ohio and be part of P20.” Roy Wilkinson, Zone Rep for PCA region Four will also be in attendance in Oxford on Saturday, July 28th.

Porsches2Oxford P2O Co-chairperson Brice Kadel said, “We are really excited to have Mr. Kelly and his wife taking the time to come to Oxford.  They obviously get invited to PCA events all across the country and we are glad to have them making the long trip to be part of the festivities.  Roy has been a supporter of P2O from the days when we were in Pinckney, Michigan.  P2O certainly wouldn’t be what it is today without the continued support and assistance of Roy.”

05.20.07

If you're already committed to driving to Oxford, OH, for P2O, we suggest doing the same for the Taj Kreuzers SpeedFest Car Show on May 27 at Lincoln Park Boulevard in Kettering, OH. The suburban Dayton location is a terrific place to hang out with other Porsche enthusiasts to enjoy a low-key event that benefits several local charities. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to participating cars so use the long Memorial Day weekend to start your late spring automotive fun! The Speedfest is approximately 50 minutes from Oxford and easy to find. Not pre-registered? No problem. Volunteers will register you at the show. For more information on the event, please visit http://www.tajmagaraj.com.

04.28.07

Richard GriotP2O Co-Chairperson Brice Kadel attended a detail clinic sponsored by Griot’s Garage of Tacoma, Washington.  The informative clinic was held in Griot’s national distribution center located in Plainfield, Indiana – just west of the Indy airport. Prior to the start of the clinics, tours were given of the three year-old facility. Over 100 PCA, BMW, and Mini club members attended the morning session and watched as the Griot’s staff demonstrated their products on four different vehicles.  They showed the ease at which their new orbital buffer can remove minor swirls and scratches.  They offered special pricing on all their products to those in attendance and were good enough to award some great door prizes.

On hand to personally meet with their guests and visitors was the company’s Founder and Chairman, Richard Griot.  Kadel had the opportunity to personally thank Mr. Griot for all his support in making P20 one of the fastest-growing P-car events in the country.  To that end, Griot’s will offer two detail seminars in Oxford and will also bring a trailer-load of their great products to sell throughout the day.  All attendees will also receive a coupon good for a free bottle of Griot’s Speed Shine. Pictured from left to right are Griot's Garage Director of Retail Sales Jason Mathews, Brice Kadel, and Founder/Chair Richard Griot.

“It’s our pleasure to again be a featured Porsches 2 Oxford sponsor this year”, said Mr. Griot.  Continuing he added, “we literally get requests to help with thousands of car events each year and are proud to be able to assist hundreds of first-class shows across the country. It’s been most enjoyable working with Brice and the P20 staff in creating a unique, ‘casual Porsche party’ in Oxford."

Griot’s annual detail clinic is hosted during the last weekend in April.  If you enjoy Griot’s products, you owe it to yourself to see their state-of-the-art facility and to personally meet Richard Griot.  Not only is he a ‘car nut’, he’s a Porsche owner too! “It was great to see first-hand the facility that my many orders helped pay for," Kadel said. "It’s one big place.  However, for me the highlight of the day was finally being able to meet Richard Griot to thank him for stepping up and supporting P20 over the last two years."

As of today, just 19 rooms remain available for those choosing to stay near show center at the Elms Holiday Inn in uptown Oxford. Special event rates are available for those attending P2O, but you must act now to reserve your room before the hotel is completely full (and they WILL sell out). You must also mention your attendance at P2O to get the discount. Those who fail to book a room in time at the Elms may also find lodging at the nearby Best Western and Hampton Inn. Both of these facilities are familiar with P2O guests and equipped to handle the growing event turnout. More information on lodging will be available after the Elms is completely booked.

03.20.07

P2O registrations are currently in full swing with over 40 cars pre-registered. Many of those who have pre-registered plan to stay overnight on Friday or Saturday, so there's no better time to remind everyone that we highly recommend pre-registering as early as possible to ensure your spot at the event and give yourself a chance at a room at the Elms Holiday Inn -- situated at show center. Only P2O attendees with reservations at the Inn have complimentary covered parking across the street after 6pm Friday evening! Rooms fill up quickly because of the Inn's unbeatable location and all rooms WILL be booked! For those who miss out, there are other hotel options within a three minute drive that are famiiar with handling P2O attendees.

02.15.07

We're thrilled to have our third and final major sponsor on board for 2007 with the addition of AUTO Aficionado Magazine. AUTO Aficionado is the premiere luxury and collector car bi-monthly periodical in the country for those owners with a discriminating taste. Terrific in-depth articles and stunning world-class photography are just some of the reasons AUTO Aficionado is a perfect match for P2O. In fact, the magazine is so good you'll never throw an issue away because you'll come back to it time and again as a perfect reference piece that documents the world's finest automobiles and the culture surrounding them. It's our continued goal to align the event with the absolute best people and products that follow the same standard of excellence P2O volunteers try to live up to. Together with Griot's Garage and Beechmont Porsche, AUTO Aficionado Magazine gives P2O the triple crown of major sponsorship. It's our sincerest privilege to have all three working with us to make the event happen given all of the sponsorship opportunities they consider. We credit that success to the P2O attendees!

02.06.07

Event sponsorship is just about completed and we're excited about the businesses associating themselves with P2O 2007. Several companies are past sponsors and several others are jumping on baord for the first time. We're extremely fortunate because P2O's success has earned us a great reputation in the Porsche community, and that allows us to be very selective about the people, companies, and products partnering with the event to make everything get off the ground. This year has the makings of the best sponsorship group in event history, with businesses holding reputations at the very top of their fields. P2O is excited to bring them to Oxford and equally excited to give attendees a personal opportunity to meet the people behind the products and services that servce the Porsche community at large.

02.01.07

The P2O web site is undergoing a major renovation. Among the improvements are better navigation tools, imbedded video and photos, more ad space for P2O sponsors, credit card payment registration options using PayPal, and more straightforward layout on the home page to communicate with P2O fans. For questions or comments about this web site, please contact P2O Webmaster and Media Relations volunteer Chris Rieman at crieman@porsches2oxford.com.

You'll also notice a new logo for P2O. We hope it brands the event in a clearer context and unifies colors and typefaces long-term.

01.13.07

It has been a busy albeit enthusiastic fall and winter campaign for P2O volunteers as we make plans for 2007's July gathering to the uptdown streets of Oxford. Exceptionally fast growth and participant response has turned P2O into a year-round project, but we're committed to doing everything in our power to exceed expectations. The Oxford Visitor's & Convention Bureau has been working closely with P2O since the end of summer to finish formal paperwork on allocating expanded street space for anticipated turnout. Porsches2Pinckney had a turnout of 82 vehicles in its final year (2004). After moving to Oxford, P2O received 143 participants in 2005 and 227 in 2006. Estimates for 2007 are approximatrely 300 cars, making P2O one of the largest Porsche-only gatherings in the eastern time zone. Volunteers are working hard to renew past sponsorship and earn new sponsorship opportunities to keep P2O inexpensive, fun, and most of all, rewarding enough to return. P2O is a 'casual Porsche party' and meant to stay that way!
